5 Layers of AR coating REDUCES BACK GLARE
Sunglasses lenses filter out light passing through them, but a percentage of light reflects back into the eye of the rear surface. It is estimated that 4% of light bounces off the concave surface and is reflected back into the eye. AR coating significantly reduces the amount of light being reflected back into the eye – hence Less UV, Less HEV and less ghost images. Frequently people complain about “back-glare” which is caused by this reflected light and the AR coating reduces this to tolerable levels.
